Tested against the method set your specifications already name

North American water, wastewater and gas distribution work is written around AWWA and ASTM. Our microcrystalline wax tape was tested using that method set — ASTM D149, D1000, D92, E96, D127, D937, D570, D870 and the AWWA C217 wax content method — with every result published as issued.

Wax tape against the AWWA C217 property set

Said precisely, because your engineer will check. These properties were measured using the AWWA C217 and ASTM method set and met the stated requirements. That is not the same as an AWWA C217 conformity declaration issued by a certification body, and we do not hold one. The standards page sets out exactly what is held and what is not, so nothing surfaces late in a pre-qualification.

Cold climate

The number that matters north of the border

Freeze–thaw cycling and winter installation defeat materials that go brittle. The viscoelastic tape was peel-tested at −45 °C.

At −45 °C it recorded 84.5 N/cm peel to steel against a 50 N/cm requirement, with 100 % adhesive coverage, and 82.8 N/cm to polyethylene. At the other end of the range it runs to +95 °C. For a buried water main or gas service repaired in a Canadian winter, that span is the specification.

84.5

N/cm peel at −45 °C

Against a 50 N/cm requirement — a 1.7× margin at the coldest tested point.

100 %

Adhesive coverage

At −45 °C, 23 °C and 70 °C alike, against a 95 % requirement.

Where it is specified

Typical North American assets

01

Buried water and wastewater mains

Field joints, fittings, valves and coating repair on ductile iron and steel mains.

02

Gas distribution

Buried valves, service tees and chamber pipework, wrapped in situ without hot work.

03

Tank bottoms and chime edges

Annular plate and shell-to-foundation details on terminal and utility storage.

04

Plant and structural steel

Pipe supports, bolted connections and base plates repaired locally on live plant.

For distributors and contractors

A qualified second source, on purpose

The wax and petrolatum tape category in North America is served by a small number of long established brands. That is comfortable until a lead time slips or a price moves.

One vendor, four technologies

Petrolatum, viscoelastic, microcrystalline wax and polyolefin tape from a single manufacturer — one qualification instead of four.

Documentation ready to register

English data sheets, safety data sheets and third-party reports, downloadable now without a form, so a vendor pack can be assembled before you contact us.

Private label and configurable packing

Roll widths, lengths, carton quantities and labelling built to your market rather than to a standard pack.
